51-Year-Old Le Jia, Who Once Got Drunk and Caused a Scandal on a TV Show, Is Now Living a Carefree Life in Dali?

Le Jia lost public appeal after a 2015 on-stage outburst, faded from mainstream TV, and now lives a quiet life with his child, at peace with past troubles.

In 2015, on the set of *Super Speaker*, a sharp crash shattered the silence in the studio—a wine bottle on the table had been smashed to the ground, followed immediately by a burst of profanity, and the entire studio fell instantly silent. No one could have predicted that Le Jia—who had become known to audiences in his early years for his sharp, blunt commentary on *If You Are the One* and had earned the label of “variety show’s sharp-tongued critic”—would lose control to the point of being completely unable to rein in his words and actions during a near-live taping.

This outburst did not come out of the blue. Previously, his inappropriate remarks during a segment with Xie Na had sparked controversy among viewers, and he was later embroiled in a scandal related to academic misconduct. Over the years, the goodwill he had built up with the audience had long since been exhausted, and this drunken spectacle was merely the culmination of long-standing issues.

Those few seconds of complete silence on the set during the recording marked a turning point in his career. Following this incident, his public image completely collapsed; within less than two months, he faded from the mainstream variety show scene and has never again appeared on television screens familiar to the public.

After stepping out of the public eye, he settled in Dali as a full-time single father, raising his daughter. Following his ex-wife’s passing in 2021, he drove thousands of kilometers with his daughter to Lhasa, fulfilling one by one the wishes his ex-wife had never been able to realize during her lifetime.

Now in his fifties, he has long been plagued by false rumors that he has been married and divorced three times. After weathering several ups and downs in life, he has long since stopped paying attention to the outside world’s commotion and gossip. He lives quietly, content with his simple life, and has finally made peace with the version of himself that had been at odds with him for the first half of his life.

In this life, when you’re in the spotlight with everyone’s eyes on you, you must maintain your composure; and when you fall into the depths of obscurity, you must hold on to what truly matters—only then will you not have wasted your time here.If you, too, have experienced moments when standing at the top made you feel adrift, and falling to the bottom brought unbearable anguish, why not take a moment to calm your mind and see clearly what you truly hold in your hands?
