The bed-and-breakfast co-founded by Li Yapeng and Zhou Jie opened in 2026 on the shores of Dianchi Lake in Kunming, and news of it quickly spread online.
In recent years, Li Yapeng has suffered a series of setbacks in his entrepreneurial ventures, and there were widespread reports that his investment projects had repeatedly incurred losses. Not long after, he invested another 30 million yuan to expand into the vacation rental business, a move that inevitably drew attention.
This investment is not a solo venture but a joint project undertaken in partnership with the Kunming Culture and Tourism Group. The group’s Qianxun Mo Wen brand opened its first location as early as 2017 and was designated a national Class A tourist homestay in 2021; it has a well-established operational system and is not a short-term, speculative project.
Zhou Jie, who has been friends with him for nearly 25 years, was on hand to show his support on
opening day. Their friendship began on the set of the 2003 TV adaptation of *The Legend of the Condor Heroes*, and over the years—regardless of the ups and downs in their respective careers—they have remained in touch and supported one another.At the opening, neither of them acted like celebrities; one bent down to help a guest carry a hiking backpack, while the other stood by to greet guests, both appearing down-to-earth and natural.
What has drawn even
more public attention is that Li Yan, who first came into the public eye through the Yanran Angels Foundation in her early years, has now turned twenty. She currently participates in the foundation’s work as a volunteer, assisting in the daily care of children in need and continuing to pass on the kindness she has received.
Currently, public inquiries about this project primarily focus on issues related to its actual operations, including accommodation pricing, group discount rates, specific location, nearby transportation options, and reviews of the brand’s existing locations from its customer base.
Setbacks are an inevitable part of life, and most people tend to give up and retreat when faced with them.
