Ning's recent statement crushed long-time fans' decade-long quest for the complete truth of Divas Hit the Tour S2, whose original master tapes are long gone.
A comment made in Ning Jing’s livestream on September 1 caught longtime viewers—who had been following the second season of *Flowers and Youth* for over a decade—completely off guard.
Over the years, many viewers have continued to dwell on the unresolved storylines from when the show first aired, spending years sifting through scattered clips in the “behind-the-scenes” content on various platforms in an attempt to piece together the complete sequence of events from back then. Only now do they suddenly realize that this quest has been fundamentally unsupported from the very beginning.
Hundreds of hours of raw footage were recorded during the show’s production, but the final broadcast accounted for less than 20 percent of that total; all scenes depicting conflict were edited out during post-production. Moreover, there has long been an unspoken convention in China’s variety show industry: once the final broadcast airs, master tapes are retained for no more than six months, after which they are formatted and destroyed.

Yet Ning Jing’s remarks directly debunk the very premise of this quest.
Piecing together a complete narrative from fragmented content is inherently limited from the outset.
There’s
no need to blindly believe in all sorts of pieced-together, fragmented information and read too much into it; there’s no need to imagine non-existent conflicts without any evidence; and there’s certainly no need to keep dwelling on a past that can no longer be fully reconstructed.
The collective memory we all share of *Flower Youth 2*, along with the various interpretations that have gradually taken shape over the years, already carries sufficient weight and value in and of itself—there is absolutely no need for so-called complete, original footage to corroborate it.
Those countless hours spent scouring content across various platforms during our spare time, obsessively searching for the so-called “truth,” have long since become a shared footnote to this generation of viewers’ youth.
