Zang Tianshuo passed away on September 28, 2018, due to advanced liver cancer.
While in critical condition, Zang Tianshuo sold his property on Beijing’s East Fourth Ring Road, his vehicles, and his entire collection of luxury watches, using all the proceeds to cover his ICU treatment costs.He became known to audiences across the country in his early years for the song “Friends” and was always praised for his generosity and willingness to help others. During his lifetime, he often gave everything he had to help friends in need, but by the time he fell seriously ill and needed money himself, he had nothing left.
In his early years, Zang Tianshuo was known in the industry as a “big brother,” with a large following. He often stepped in to mediate when friends were in trouble, but he was sentenced to six years in prison for crossing legal boundaries. After his release, the landscape of the entertainment industry had completely changed; his former glory and the network of connections he had built were gone,His living conditions deteriorated steadily until he was diagnosed with late-stage liver cancer, which completely shattered his spirit.
During the few days he was still conscious in the ICU, Zang Tianshuo made no mention of medical expenses or outstanding debts; he merely asked someone to convey an apology to Siqin Gerel.The crowd at Zang Tianshuo’s funeral was a mixed bunch: strangers who had come specifically to film the event and ride the wave of attention; old acquaintances who had followed him in his early days and had since achieved modest success in their own careers but were merely going through the motions; and a few old friends crouched in the corner with reddened eyes, too poor to even afford a decent wreath.Having spent half his life singing songs about friendship and loyalty, it wasn’t until the very end of his life that he truly discerned the authenticity of the relationships around him.
In life, one must adhere to the legal boundaries; set aside savings to handle unexpected situations; do not wait until one’s final moments to make amends for wrongs done to others; and in relationships, value sincerity over superficiality. These are not mere empty platitudes, but warnings that Zang Tianshuo left for the world through the lessons of his life.
